# Prefect Local Setup Requirements

#### Requirements

Make sure the following are installed on the host system:

* **Docker Engine**
* **Docker Compose v2**

#### Host OS Compatibility

* **Linux**: Recommended and fully supported.
* **Windows**: Works with Docker Desktop (WSL2). Volume mounts may cause issues.
* **macOS**: Supported via Docker Desktop. Similar to Windows in behavior.

#### System Requirements

* **RAM**: 1–2 GB per container. For multiple flows: 2–4 GB.
* **CPU**: 1–2 cores per container. For concurrent flows: 2–4 cores.
* **Disk**: 2–3 GB for image and logs
