Prefect Local Setup Requirements

Requirements

Make sure the following are installed on the host system:

• Docker Engine

• Docker Compose v2

Host OS Compatibility

• Linux: Recommended and fully supported.

• Windows: Works with Docker Desktop (WSL2). Volume mounts may cause issues.

• macOS: Supported via Docker Desktop. Similar to Windows in behavior.

System Requirements

• RAM: 1–2 GB per container. For multiple flows: 2–4 GB.

• CPU: 1–2 cores per container. For concurrent flows: 2–4 cores.

• Disk: 2–3 GB for image and logs
