# Global Settings

Use **Settings** to manage the organisation and the way documents are processed. The current app groups settings by purpose in the left menu; it does not show a separate screen named “Global Settings”.

1. Select the gear icon to open **Settings**.
2. Under **Organization & Access**, choose the area you need, such as **Company Information** or **Users**.
3. Under **Document Processing**, choose **Document Types** to configure a particular kind of document.

Start with the guide that matches your task:

* [Company Information](/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings/company-information.md) for company details and preferences.
* [Groups, Users and Permissions](/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings/groups-users-and-permissions.md) for who can work in the organisation.
* [Subscription Plan](/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings/subscription-plan.md) for plan information.
* [Integration](/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings/integration.md) for connections and API keys.
* [Document Types](/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings/document-types.md) for document-specific configuration.
* [Email Notification](/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings/email-notification.md) and [E-Mail templates](/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings/e-mail-templates.md) for messages sent by DocBits.

Settings can affect live documents and other users. Review the relevant guide and check changes in a test organisation before saving them in production.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.docbits.com/administration-and-setup/settings/global-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
